Linda Giesecke has over 20 years of experience in the oil industry. She joined ESAI Energy in 2019and leads the company’s analysis of demand and transport fuels.
Ms. Giesecke has extensively modeled short-term and long-term demand, particularly in the US and Europe. This includes modeling vehicle fleets and assessing the impact of policy. She prepares and publishes the firm’s monthly Global Fuels Outlook, which forecasts primary transport fuel supply, demand, and prices. She leads the company’s European coverage,prepares the EV analysis included in the company’s Green Energy Trends report, and contributes to consulting projects. She has presented ESAI’s analysis at AFPM conferences.
Before ESAI Energy,Ms. Giesecke worked for over a decade at Wood Mackenzie, leading the company’s oil demand analysis as part of the Macro Oils team and contributing to America’s analysis. Her early years in the oil industry were shaped by ESAI, where she covered the Atlantic Basin and launched ESAI’s Latin America Watch. BeforeESAI, she worked in economic consulting for litigation purposes at Cambridge Economics.
Ms. Giesecke received a B.A. in Economics from Lafayette College in Easton, PA, and a master’s equivalent in economics from the University of Mannheim in Germany. She speaks German and is conversant in Spanish. Ms. Giesecke works out of ESAI’s Andover office.
